U Scanner

The ideal app for work, school, or any situation where you might need to record some information quickly. This would come in handly if you were sitting in a long presentation at work and needed to take a snapshot of the slides to help you remember, and the same goes for a long lecture at university, for example. But you can use it for basically anything. Simply point it at whatever information you need, and after taking the photo, the app will automatically straighten the image, edit them to make them clearer, make them shareable via social media, and more.

Elevate - Brain Training

Elevate is a strong rival to Peak: it has similarly clear visuals and simple, accessible mini-games to test your wits against. There are more than 30 here testing memory, focus, maths, comprehension and other mental skills.
The app is keen to get you logging in regularly, tracking your “streaks” on its calendar, and tweaking the difficulty levels as you become more adept. Here too, a Pro subscription (for £5.99 a month) unlocks more games, and lets you play them as often as you like.

Journey

Android/Chrome/Web: Keeping a journal has a ton of healthy side benefits. Journey, the photo-friendly journaling app, makes it even easier with a calendar and atlas view for reviewing your entries.

While there are tons of apps you can use for keeping a journal—including but not limited to basically every text editor in the world—Journey makes it easy to attach photos to your posts, so you have a visual memory to associate with your written ones. You can also browse through your previous notes with a calendar view, or an atlas view that shows you notes based on locations. If you want to get serious about journaling, it’s a handy tool catered specifically to your needs.
